An Academy student has been recognized for her artistic contribution to bring awareness to the need for organ donors.
Donate Life CT is a group whose sole purpose is to increase the number of registered organ donors in the state. Every year, the group holds a poster contest for high school artists in order to raise awareness to teenagers as they approach driving age and have the option to become organ donors.
At a state capitol ceremony recognizing April as “Donate Life Month,” Academy sophomore Jesenia Doyon was one of the many young Connecticut artists honored. Her work shows a hand placing a piece into a puzzle and it reads “you are the missing piece we need.” Her poster received honorable mention at the April 5th event.
Jesenia Doyon is a half day student studying visual arts at the Academy. She comes from Vernon.
