Academy Dancer’s Perform At Festival/Recognized With 158 Acceptances

A number of recruiting colleges and summer programs were also in attendance and were holding auditions. Participants were limited to ten students for auditions. . The Academy auditioned three juniors and seven seniors. All of them received a total of 158 acceptances to college dance programs or professional dance programs.

Junior Selected for Writer’s Conference

Half-day Creative Writing/Media Arts junior Alex Nordlund will be attending Breadloaf's New England Young Writers' Conference (NEYWC) from May 17 to May 20. To audition for the conference, which is open to students nationwide, he submitted a poem entitled "Writing Poetry." This poem earned him one of the seventy spots for poetry.

Scholarship Winner Academy Student For Eighth Year

A student from the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts is the latest winner of The Wallace Stevens Poetry Scholarship. The scholarship is an award of $1,000 granted to a high school junior or senior living in the city of Hartford from the ” Friends and Enemies of Wallace Stevens.
