Edward Gorey Workshop

Visual artists from the CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts took a chance at a little acting while studying the artwork of Edward Gorey. During a unique field trip experience, visual arts students from Nancy Doherty’s Creativity in the Community class spent an afternoon at Hartford Stage creating tableaux poses in a workshop led by teaching artist Krista Devellis. The poses created by each student was inspired by and paid tribute to famous 20th century illustrator Edward Gorey.

Afterwards the students took a walk down the street to the Wadsworth Atheneum to view the exhibit "Gorey’s World-The Art of Edward Gorey."
